It’s that time again, time for the predictions game to get rolling and going with the season. It’s almost regular season time, so let’s stop all the waffling on and get to the point.
For those who are new, or just want a refresh on how this works. Here is the game…
First thing is predicting the division winners for each of the eight divisions, and then predict the winner of each conference along with the winner of the ElectroBowl. You don’t need to pick their W-L record, just who you think will win the division. These points will be delivered after the regular season has ended, and you can change who you think will win right up until the sim of the first regular season game
(so October 17th). After that, your picks are locked in for the season.
NOTE: when predicting the conference champions, remember the playoffs consist of the four division winners along with three wildcard teams
At the same time, you can predict your own team's win/loss record for the season. 16 games, so any chance to go between 0-16 and 16-0.
This year we are also going to add an extra little game, and this one comes from Beans, where you can predict the host of the HyperElectrobowl game. Last year, the Terriers hosted so who will it be this year??? Add your guess in with your season predictions.
After that, for each week of the regular season, I will pick a game
(either the game of the week or another one) to be the prediction game. This will happen for each Week in the regular season as well through the postseason where every game will be featured.
Your part in all of this is to not only pick the winner, but the margin you think the game will be.
Again, you don’t need to explain your choice if you don’t want to. Also, no ties (if the game is a tie, everyone gets a point). I will try to pick games that I think will be close, or exciting, or just the AI’s choice for Game of the Week. I’ll also try to spread it around so as many teams as possible are featured. There will also be a few weeks where one of you will get to pick the prediction game, so be on the lookout for them. There will also be a few weeks where two games will be selected, so even more chances to get points… The choice of game will open up as soon as possible after the previous game sim has been processed, along with an updated leaderboard and will close at the sim of the game in question, so you have 48 hours to get your predictions in each week. All of the postseason games will be featured as well.
One new addition this season will be the reintroduction of the
JOKER. This can only be used once during the regular season if you desire to use it (can not be used in the postseason) where you can double your points for that game (if used in a double game week, you will need to specify which game it is being used for). If you guess correctly, you get double points for that week. If you guess incorrectly, you lose points (loss of points is not doubled).
The points system for this year is as follows:-
1 point for picking the right division winner (points awarded at the end of the regular season)
3 points for predicting the right conference winner (points awarded after the conference championship games)
5 points for picking the winner of the HyperElectroBowl (points awarded after the season)
5 points for picking the host city/team of the ElectroBowl (points awarded after the season)
5 points for correctly predicting your own team's win/loss record (points awarded at the end of the regular season)
1 point for picking the correct winning team each week
3 points if you pick the correct team and the winning margin
