How unusual is it to take on a team that is going to have 0 free agents when this season ends. I don't like the look of it and am afraid that my cap is going to be completely jacked up next season.

you're going from 23 million in dead cap this year to 6 million next .. you'll be fine .. lol

You just have a heck of a lot of decisions to make next season on impending FAs ;)

team i took over has no FAs next yr. I saw it as a bonus! lol. gives me a yr to figure this team out. I dont know how the cuttign system works but i assume ppl with 2 yr deals (this season), can probably be cut with minimal penalty. not 100% sure tho.

The only money that you will need to account for is the bonus money.

If you keep your 2 year players into next season then they will obviosly now be one year players.

so if player A is being paid $500,000 with a $1,000,000 bonus that last season .. if cut, you pay the $1m that season.

So...at this point in the season.... am I about to lose the guys with 1 year left? Or has that already clicked over, cause I do see a guy with 0 years left.

If you see a guy with 0 years left on your roster, you must be in Early FA.

In that case, he's no longer actually on your team anymore (WHY is he on your roster? That's another conversation that's been going on for years).

I'll have to put on my "capologist" hat and figure it all out. Still gotta draft and sign rookies.

Drafting is the hard part .. they are automatically signed.

When it comes to your one year players avoid that renegotiating wizard .. you can save several million just doing them individually.

Jsid linked an awesome help for that in another thread.

Salary is not guaranteed. If you cut them you save that money and if in season it's prorated. Bonus you eat no matter what. If you cut this season, that bonus counts again cap and total future bonus accelerates to dead money for next season.
