Sigh. Y'all got something so good, something so beta, yet so many of you choose to be all alpha about it.

Yep. Time to depart the madness and just keep putting up my 30ppg.
I know nothing.
I'm too new to know, and thus my thoughts mean nothing.
Sounds like a John Mellencamp quote, don't it?
Because it is.

PS: Edited because p o o p is now under the realm of the forum censor-bot. Minor improvement since this thread was started to the UI.
It's the little things.

There is hope and there is reality. I think the reality is what the "old timers" tried to bring forth.

Since we are dropping truth bombs and calling our own shots.....

Riddle me this:

Why does CrazySexyBeast....the 6+ year owner famous for starting the "UPDATE THE ENGINE OR I QUIT" thread

&

The Witchhunter....a self proclaimed Noob who chants Kumbaya and preaches positivity is the way

WHY DO THEY BOTH SHARE A COMMON IP ADDRESS?????

Are they family?
Are they close friends?
Could they be lovers?

Maybe it's just coincidence where 2 complete strangers use the same computer at an internet Cafe, neither knowing each other or the fact they both played MFN!

Or maybe its the simple solution where Crazysexybeast backed himself into a corner about quitting and he created a new account to continue playing MFN without losing face.

The only problem was while Crazysexybeast could pretend to be a Noob under the alias Witchhunter....he couldn't help but comment in the "UPDATE THE ENGINE OR I QUIT" to attack me!!!

Unfortunately for CrazyWitchbeast, I'm much smarter then he is and PMed JDB with my suspicions:

RECEIT #1

JDB did respond quickly with the following:

RECEIT #2

I take no great joy in revealing this since JDB said he would handle the matter but clearly Sexybeasthunter can't stop himself from jumping on a soapbox and proclaiming himself morally, intellectually and ethically superior to anyone with a differing insight or opinion.

Personally, I love MFN and have supported this game both financially and through creating and sustaining custom leagues which has helped keep MFN viable despite the fact MFN has been hemorrhaging owners for the past 2 years.

I can't in good conscience say in the forums that the new subscription model is great and will improve the game when I've been campaigning for 2 years for owners to stay, stick around and keep playing.

My opinion is this:

For over a decade MFN survived as a super small community and it was free to play with ads and purchasing credits removed those ads.

Since the release of version 4.6 (a clear step backwards from version 4.5) 2 years ago....we have been losing a steady stream of leagues and owners with the influx of new owners nowhere near replacing the loses.

MFN-# leagues have been all but dead for 18 months and only custom leagues with active league admins who add content and recruit survive.

I believe the free to play with ADs model became no longer sustainable because we fell below the number of actual users required to pay for the server costs.

I've done several owner census before and without access to JDBs data...it required going league by league and compiling every new name. Very tedious and time-consuming but I know we currently have roughly 50% of the owners we had in March of 2022.

I WANT MFN TO NOT JUST SURVIVE BUT THRIVE!!!!

But it's all on 1 man's shoulders and it's plainly obvious JDB has lost either the drive, passion, motivation or interest to work on MFN in his free time.

He did start the clock for changes to happen in MFN because answering to paid subscribers versus a free to play game is much different.

I have absolutely no problem with paying for a subscription if we have regular updates to the game. Honestly, switching to a subscription plan should have piggy-backed off the release of the new user update but we were told it's 75% done after being told 13 months ago it was 70-80% done.

Another question is how does a small influx in capital speed up development of the game. Let's be optimistic and say 300 users actively play MFN and everyone will pay $2 a month bringing in $600 a month. Again, it's a 1-man show and will $600 give him more free time to put into development?

I wonder if the move to a subscription model is really just an excuse to have everyone spend all there credits so if he folds the tent in the next year....he faces no legal complications where he is sued to redeem money to users for unspent credits.

But hey, that's just me!!! I spend all day analyzing data to figure out what bad things will happen. I've never written an action report based on all the compiled data which predicts unicorns & rainbows for all!

It's usually group A is gonna screw over group B with the help of Group C while group D does nothing because they don't want to upset group F who could care less about groups A, B or C.

you feel i want a mute button because of you?

youre mostly correct. nothing personal.....its just that when i see a notification for a comment in a community forum i like to check it out....like keeping a finger on the pulse. if someone continuously posts gibberish i could mute them and not get the notifications.....just thinking of ways to optimize interface......ability to mute others is a common thing on platforms. cheers

It's worrying that despite the regular posts in this thread none have been from JDB
I'm not gonna check when he last posted in here but it seems like it's been a while unless I'm mistaken

If JDB replies within 24 hours I’ll upgrade my subscription

I'd suggest any panel of users helping with 2 would also be useful as a "town council", both raising issues with you and also being able to disseminate agreed communications, to alleviate demands on your time.
