FATIGUE SETTINGS

is it normal in preseason to have the qb setting at 100 and still have the backup come in?

Unless injury sub, I know it does not happen in reg season.
Logical to think preseason is the same way.
Perhaps in the MISC tab you had starters sitting after X quarter?

Hadn't thought of that, I'll have to check. Thanks.

Yeah swapping out QBs mid drive isn't advisable so I set QB fatigue to 100 during preseason and play the starter either 1 or 2 quarters

I always set QB and K/P at 100, and manipulate all other positions with overs.
I'd rather see that rook RB run behind a better line, maybe that future zone blitz LB in the appropriate moments of opportunity, etc.
Pre wk 1-3 I use a 60 Fatigue at all but QB and kicking positions.
65 pre week 4.
70 Regular Season.
As always, the lower my fatigue settings the more injuries I get, with or without overrides.
"you ever see a lion stretch before it chased a Gazelle?" #cardio #doupletap #Twinkies

Control what we can control, and I prefer to go by down, distance, 1/4, and field position via overrides.
I can not be the only one seeing folks struggling with fatigue settings all the time.
The issue is relying upon fatigue settings.
You want your best guy at the right time?
Or do you want the AI to throw spaghetti?
The lower the fatigue settings, the more pasta you eat in critical moments.
I have found the better I sub with overs, the less I need fatigue.
If I use subs to maximize the players I have by each formation, I WANT that player to be in that formation when it is called, as dictated by my defensive rules.
A trifecta.
That means fatigue settings need to be higher, NOT lower.
Rules. Overrides (1a/1b). THEN fatigue settings.
Fatigue settings should be the last consideration if the first 2 are given proper attention.

Right player, right place, every time unless injury. #advantages
Just my way. Works for me.
By all means, play "your" game.
More variety that way :)
I hope something to think about - and better yet explore in pre-season.
If one is the type of owner to ask such a question, I get the idea s/he wants to “go deep” with only a few teams.
That is the BOMB.

I do the same for QB and K...100 fatigue.....but unlike the previous post I don't ever use overrides and set my fatigue settings to 50 for the regular season....I increase those settings for the playoffs up to 75.

My belief is I need all 53 players getting some snaps during the regular season and I rarely play injured players unless I simply have no choice. This allows most players on the roster to get significant snaps with the exception of backup quarterback.

Again, this has worked for me and I don't see anything wrong with playing the game differently. I guess the biggest thing is roster construction where I have

QB 2
RB 4
FB 2
TE 3
WR 5
LT 3
LG 3
C 3
RG 3
RT 3
K 1
P 1
LDE 3
DT 4
RDE 3
SLB 3
MLB 4
WLB 3
CB 5
SS 2
FS 2

Now if you add that up...you get 62 players and thats where player versatility comes in....I cross train my offensive linemen to play multiple positions....make my FB and TE interchangable....cross train defensive linemen and linebackers to play multiple positions.

The fatigue setting minimizes serious injuries and the versatility allows any injured players to rest. My ultimate goal isn't to go 16-0....its to make the playoffs with a healthy, versatile roster where I can amp up the pressure and go for the title.

I'm not saying my way is the only way but its the way I have had success...I've learned in this game that there are many ways to win and thats what makes this game exciting.

how do you come up with a schedule for them to cross train. just every game or special teams or what?

Training camp/preseason

If you have a 75/75 LT and you goto training camp....move him to RT or LG whatever and let him grow at that position. After 4 seasons....he will be trained everywhere but Center and is worth his weight in gold as depth at 4 positions....same goes for MLB to SLB or WLB....LDE to DT and RDE.....CB to SS or FS.

This creates versatile depth that can play multiple positions.
