What difference would it make, though? You would still be able to 'abandon' the team except it just wouldn't be available for any other owners to take over, so there's no de-incentivizing this behavior. In fact, it's likely that this has been going on already, there just has been no indication that it has.

There's a measure of this that we aren't going to get away from, no matter what. That's why the trades are currently probably more restrictive than most people would like them to be. But I haven't come up with a solution yet that works.

The trade was just voided by Admin.
Props to David as it was just not a good precedent. Could have been 100% legit, just that the circumstances made for a slippery slope.
Anyway, a fun game and the fierceness of all of us being competitive makes it all the more enjoyable.

btw the user who supposedly did this is in MFN 15 and MFN 71

MFN 15 = https://mfn15.myfootballnow.com/
MFN 71 = https://mfn71.myfootballnow.com/

I just hope it was a one time deal or he could destroy 2 more leagues especially a Old one and a newer one at that.

One trade isn't going to destroy a league, additionally that trade in 17 wasn't even all that bad value wise. I've seen far worse trades.

I am one of the owners involved in this trade and I think the other owner's username should be posted here because I am unfairly probably getting a bad reputation for this trade. It was a completely legitimate trade from my side and it's unfair if I am looked at as a cheater because of another owner's actions.

I didn't feel the trade itself was unfair, but the circumstances around it were inappropriate. My hope is that he joined the league, played for a day, and then decided to switch to a different league. I also saw no evidence of collusion; but because he owned the team for such a short time I felt it necessary for the integrity of the game to reverse the trade because from that one fact it has the appearance of something underhanded.

The owner in question is no secret - it's plainly listed in the 'welcome' forum thread as VyprenGames.

To the entire community: please don't villainize either of these users. I am assuming it was an innocent act but still feel that reversing the trade was the right course of action because of the amount of time VyprenGames was an owner, and I do not want 'hit and run' acts in these leagues, no matter how innocent.

Thanks JD. I have no issues with you voiding the trade I completely understand where you're coming from on that. Just more so worried about getting labeled a cheater because I do like to make a lot of trades and we all know how crazy the witch hunts for cheaters can get at times.

Otherwise, why not a 3 day waiting period to make trades for veteran owners.

Or automatic reversals of trades if an owner abandons a team within 30 days of a trade.

Something other than a 30 day waiting period to make a trade if you're a veteran owner. Otherwise, few of us will take over another team. :)

The problem with automatic reversals is that a lot of transactions can be made within 30 days and one trade being reversed could mean other trades would need to be as well that did not directly involve the owner or team in question.
