Gameplan by formation not just personnel

It seems odd that you set personnel in the gameplan and rules rather than formation.
Eg if it is 3rd and 1,
I can call a 212 inside run. It could be any inside run from any formation.
I would rather call an IForm FB dive for example than a Split back hb trap. Long yardage visa versa.

Not a big deal but potentially a simple improvement that can make the game deeper.

i think this would be awesome if it could be done because i would think it would be easier to gameplan by formation and at least have the formation you want on the field on certain times and in turn people i would think wouldnt complain about their rules not working or they had the wrong formation on the field and what cost them the game

The reason it is this way is because you call your defensive play based on the personnel that you see in the huddle. A change based on formation is technically in the realm of an audible, which is something that I'd like to add at some point. But a rule allows you to sub in a different personnel set, which you shouldn't be able to do once you see the formation.
