Signing Period instead of Draft for College Football Leagues

I was thinking considering there is 1 college football league ( https://ncaa-football.myfootballnow.com/ ) Why not make it where instead of a DRAFT they have a SIGNING PERIOD in the place of that Draft?


By having that signing period at least the college football league or college football leagues wouldnt follow the same pattern the NFL does .


And it would add some difference between a College Football league and a NFL featured league.
