this idea came from none other than bgedgerly

I think a few 'training wheel' leagues hosted by some vets for the people who have been here for less than a couple months would go a LONG way to promoting long-term participation and also help JDB narrow down the culling of duplicate accounts.

it is in this thread = https://agent86.myfootballnow.com/forums/thread/1/239?page=1#1950

A way to make this work easily is if some of the active veterans at JDBs discretion can grant a waiver on the 15 credit custom league thing and have it created and actively hosted by the selected veterans.

I also think that sticky-ing forum threads about player weights, rules, gameplanning, drafting tips, and other guides straight to the local forums in these leagues automatically would be amazingly helpful.

It took me ages to dig through the forums to find what I was looking for.

I imagine this is what JDB had in mind when he created this sticky thread:

I'm a noob...which means I have a decent understanding of the game but not near the level to be in anyway efficient until I fully understand the ramifications of making decisions on a team while learning the game as it is currently being presented.

I'm not American, but have been an American Football fan since the early '80's. Once I decided on a team, I was informed that they were cap crippled and it would take 2-3 seasons to turn them into a semi-decent team. I will still endeavour to try and achieve this.

The one thing I find most difficult is to where to source information on what to do "NOW", to make the team better.

There are 74 pages on the Help forum * 10 threads per page..... so 740 (apprx) threads along with many replies......this is a turkey shoot in finding the info that is prevalent to the game.

Whilst I have reached out to a few coaches for a "low-down" on what the important factors are, few have replied, and those that have I am very grateful to.

Personally, and in-line with this thread, it is my belief that a mentor program be established to aid newcomers to adapt to the game. I’m not asking for handouts to a dominant team, just a shoulder to lean on and ask Q’s and take advice from.

Just a noobs opinion...nothing more.
