2033 MLF Fiendish Four

They say the Devil wears Prada, and four more teams have lost their 2033 season as the league heads into the Fiendish Four. Still plotting an opponent’s demise are Chicago (SlipperySlope), Ohio (jabillups85), Beaver Dam (CrazySexyBeast), and Texas (loanblood).

The early game brings us to O’Brien Stadium in Charleston, Il, where the Beasts are looking to win a 4th Conference title in 4 years. However, according to Red Dogs head coach Samuel Jordan, the Beasts can expect “a good old fashioned Cuyahoga-ing. We’re going to burn those f... “ He was then forcefully removed by Ohio GM jabillups85, who quickly stammered: 'Well, as we can see, Coach is fired up for the game. We look forward to an exciting matchup this weekend, and may the better team win. ...and we will.”

Meanwhile, in Beaver Dam, head coach Jim Jorgensen quickly and unwittingly became a social media sensation during an impromptu Q&A given on the airport tarmac after last week’s win over Alaska. With perhaps the quote of the year, upon being asked how he felt about the 2033 season, and his team’s chances to beat the Rustlers, Jorgenson shouted “WHAT?” and then walked off, a beer in one hand and a blonde in the other. He never travels anywhere without his Shiba Inu, Fjord.
In an unusual move, the Rustlers have declined to stay in Beaver Dam for the game, instead choosing to stay an hour’s flight away in Racine. Said HC William Moyer: “It’s right in the middle. Ya got Chicago’s best hot dogs, and the world's best Brats. We rented a communal floor above the local brothel. It’s right next door to a Shakey’s and across the street from The Sausage Kitchen. We don’t like cheese, cows are for eatin.”

2033 MAJOR LEAGUE FOOTBALL CAMP CUP

After tearing up the Ohio Red Dogs (jabillups85), the Chicago Beasts (SlipperySlope) achieved their 4th straight Camp Cup against a familiar foe: The Beaver Dam Curds (CrazySexyBeast). The Curds, no strangers to the Cup themselves and making their 6th consecutive Cup game and a bid for 2nd straight league title, out-rustled Texas (loanblood) 24-9.

With the title matchup set, the teams flew into Atlanta, and began to acclimate themselves to the turf of Bobby Dodd Stadium.

It did not take long after the kickoff before a crowd 67,486 (95% cap) for the fans to realize they might drink more beers than touchdowns scored. The odds were on BVD K William O'Malley to be the game MVP as the teams waded into the 4th quarter 12-3, BVD leading and 5 field goals of scoring.

Chicago however, was not to be denied, and capped off a 7 play/75 yard drive with a touchdown, bringing the game to a 10-12 deficit. The Curds followed with a quick 3 and out against a well-schemed Beasts defense, and Chicago quickly followed with a 4 play/66 yard touchdown drive to bring the game into Chicago’s favor 16-12 (the Beasts failed a 2 point conversion). The Beasts continued their scoring tear by converting a field goal after QB Robert “One Eye” Lyle threw his second INT of the game.

Taking the ball with 4:15 remaining, the title on the line, and down 19-12; the Curds manifested a quick 1:56 drive for a touchdown by RB Carl Kùökamüngah, tying the game at 19 with 1:57 remaining to claim the Cup.

Beaver Dam’s tired defense, worn from trench warfare, stood proud. Game MVP DB Weezy McSneezy picked off CHI QB Irvin Huggins at the 50 with :42 remaining in the match. 7 seconds later, WR Cledus “Snowman” Snow broke free on a 48 yard dash - somersaulting into the endzone for the game clinching TD.

The BVD D finished the game with 2 knockdowns as Chicago went 3 and out to finish the game.
The Curds win, 26-19.

2034 MLF CARNIVAL OF KISMET

Ah, February. A gathering of the Spring to come as Old Man Winter fades into his final hours, taking 20 MLF teams with him. Fortunately, for the remaining 12, the seeds planted during the frozen months of December have rooted into an opportunity of destiny as they hope to reap a Camp Cup trophy.

In the first matchup of the round, returning Black Pudding Division champ the Boston Revolution (pronfl51) is even by the bookies against the Pittsburgh Ironmen (trslick). Pittsburgh's QB Randale Hale, having led the league with 5,021 yards passing and the Ironmen to their 4th consecutive playoff appearance since he was drafted in 2031, has had his commitment to football questioned after opting out of a non-mandatory cadence drill to appear on Connie Povich’s Late Night show - In Bulgaria (!!) last Tuesday.

The other Bangers Conference matchup has the Denver Cougars, under 1st year GM prestlyg12, on the road against perennial playoff contender the Ohio Red Dogs (jabillups85). The Red Dogs, having made the Camp Cup chase since the league’s inception (2018), are favored by 6.

In the Mash and Gravy conference, the early game on Sunday has the Baltimore Bearcats (calebwill [59-41-1 in MLF play]) looking to feast upon the Dakota Coyotes at Byrd Stadium in Baltimore. Led by veteran QB Rex Ponce (yep, 5-time Camp Cup winner Rex Ponce), signed in free agency after leaving Beaver Dam, and his league leading 71% completion percentage, Baltimore is expected to roll against a league-owned team.

The last game of the weekend, featuring the Texas Rustlers (loanblood) at home against the Oklahoma Stampede (jhall218), has been branded as a David vs. Goliath battle with the Rustlers favored by 11. The Texas D, full of cowboy action, have been herding quarterbacks all season and lead the league with 1.5 sacks per game. “We got the lariat, and we know how to use it. ****, I hogtie cattle all offseason, and (OK QB Joseph) Blevins only got two legs. Eddie Murphy had none in Trading Places, and he took down Wall Street” stated Stetson hatted DE Bruce Gibson (5 sacks/7 hurries/19 tackles).
This reporter, much like everyone else since Gibson's crushing week 7 concussion and born in the late 20th century, had no idea what the Mr. Gibson was referencing.
