About players intelligence

My question is on the players ratings, do you think it's talking about common sense intelligence or football intelligence because yhrte is a difference. A guy might not be too smart in the books but he might have a high football IQ.

I think it's football smarts. Play familiarity, missed assignments, hitting the hole etc..........
............But I wonder about contract negotiations? hmmmm
I could be wrong on all of this.
Why did I even post this then? idk. Im going home now.

well this brings back memories of someone telling me that people have either common sense or book sense when it comes something

Book Sense is the ins and outs of rules of a job , a sport , etc.
Like if that place of business says you have to let everyone have a lunch then book sense means if the rule book says you give people a lunch break then you follow it that.

Common Sense is more like how to do things at a job, a sport ,etc.
Like if that place allows their doors to be unlocked when no one is there then common sense tells you need to lock all the doors and not think everyone is honest.

Now to your question about common sense intelligence and football intelligence i would break them down like this
Football Intelligence says that you cover that WR because thats your job
Common Sense says that considering no one is covering that WR that you should go over there and cover that WR so you dont get burnt by him.

With that i would say this game probably goes by the Football Intelligence over the Common Sense when it comes to ratings.

my reasoning is if it came down to common sense i would imagine some the plays people have seen would never seen them because the player would get a common sense that hey i need to do a diving tackle to stop that offensive player instead of doing a escort to the endzone , that the defensive player would have decided to cover that RB/FB that it always seems like the QB throws to when he is pressured or at least jump in front and pick that ball off and run it back for a TD, etc.

Maybe JDB could address this, if he already hasnt, so we all have the best understanding possible regarding the effect of intelligence on player performance, if any? Here's the best I could find on the subject so far.....

quote from a post by jdb..... " Intelligence weighs into a number of things, the largest among them are the ability to learn plays. There are some smaller things with intelligence like a WR extending his route past the first down marker on 3rd down if it comes close. Discipline is all about penalties."

He does, but it is if the right question is. asked. Or more correctly would be if a specific question is asked that is pertaining to intelligence . But the last time he made a general boost to the value of intelligence the game changed considerably . Imo at least....i have a set of Weights specifically for that change. , but still value intelligence low in general , but the most notably increase was in line play.( that's is only cause oline play is over powered) Well, besides qb hot reads , but the boost was to all postions and all play types. For overall effectivness I like rating intelligence one third the value of top rated core valued ratings, per postion .
